Emergency Preparedness
and Reponse Plan

reducing impact on biodiversity and agriculture

Preparedness for natural disasters and effective responses for biodiversity and agricultural natural capital assets are paramount in the Northern Gulf Region. Given our region's vulnerability to various natural disasters, proactive measures are essential to safeguard the environment, agricultural productivity, and long-term environmental sustainability.

The Biodiversity and Agricultural Natural Capital Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan better integrates biodiversity and agricultural natural capital into emergency planning and response efforts.

The plan seeks to build resilience of biodiversity and agriculture assets by implementing measures before, during, and after emergencies to support recovery. These include conservation efforts to preserve critical habitats, building knowledge to inform actions, and implementing sustainable land management practices.

The most likely disaster scenarios for the region have been considered in the plan including cyclones, floods, droughts, late season wildfires, disease, and extreme heat wave events.
