Field Assistant

The Field Assistant is accountable to the Field Supervisor, and works as part of a team to deliver on-ground NRM projects in the region. Field projects may include weed management, fencing, revegetation projects, water and soil sampling. The Field Assistant contributes to the delivery of projects and programs that improve the health of the unique environments of Queensland’s Gulf Savannah region.

  • Hourly rate of $44.07 per hour

Agriculture Officer

Help shape a more sustainable future for agriculture across the Northern Gulf. In this role, you’ll work directly with landholders and project partners to deliver practical agriculture and soil health projects, combining fieldwork, mapping, technical knowledge and project management to achieve meaningful outcomes across North Queensland.

  • Based in Mareeba, Georgetown or Croydon, QLD
  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term to 30th June 2028
  • Commencing wage $92,546 per annum full time or $47.46 per hour

NRM Project Officer

Play an active role in delivering projects that improve environmental, social and economic outcomes across the Northern Gulf. This diverse position brings together project management, community engagement, field monitoring and technical NRM work, with opportunities to collaborate with landholders, Traditional Custodians, government and industry.

  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term to 30th September 2028

Communications Officer

The Communications Officer will coordinate and deliver selected digital and print communications and promote Gulf Savannah NRM and regional NRM issues through modern media. We are looking for a person with a creative eye and technical aptitude for communication, advocacy and storytelling through digital communications and social media. Ideally, the successful applicant will have an empathy for remote and regional Australia and an understanding of environmental issues impacting North Queensland.

Grazing Officer

The Grazing Officer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting Gulf Savannah NRM’s delivery of projects that improve grazing practices and deliver improved natural resource management outcomes in agricultural and pastoral settings. You will coordinate the provision of expert advice and provide support to land managers to implement improved grazing practices and increase the resilience of grazing businesses. The Grazing Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects, including working within project budgets and completing project reporting for funders, partners, Gulf Savannah NRM’s Leadership Team, Board of Directors and members.

  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term to 30 June 2029
  • Commencing wage $80,025 per annum full time or $41.04 per hour
