Have your say: Planning for fire management
Fire has long been a part of the Australian landscape and getting fire management right is important for our people, land and agriculture. Too little fire and the country is not rejuvenated, woody thickening can occur, ecosystems change, and wildfire conditions can develop. Too much fire and species are affected, productivity reduced, and landscapes changed.
This issue is ranked as one of our highest priorities for natural resource management (NRM) across the Northern Gulf region.
