Gulf Savannah NRM has recently welcomed Natarsha Berrigan to the Croydon team, where she will be supporting local landholders in the role of Grazing Officer.
Ms Berrigan said she is motivated by the opportunity to combine her lived experiences with local knowledge and design a personalised approach to pasture care.
“I’m looking forward to bringing my practical grazing background into the mix and talking with producers, looking at Country together, and working out what actually works on the ground for each individual place,” she said.
“I’m keen to share what I know, learn plenty more, and connect people with useful ideas, tools, and support.”
With an eye on the bigger picture, Ms Berrigan hopes her work will contribute long-lasting impacts she can look back on in years to come.
“If I dream big, I’d love to help create stronger, more resilient landscapes that stay productive no matter what the seasons throw at us,” she said.
“It’d be great to see producers feeling supported and confident in their management decisions and seeing real results in their paddocks.”
While settling into the role, Ms Berrigan said she is also gaining a deeper understanding of the complexity of natural resource management.
“NRM has so many layers, and there’s a lot happening behind the scenes that I’m slowly piecing together,” she said.
“I’m figuring it out bit by bit, and everyone’s been super helpful in showing me the ropes.”
