From 6 to 12 July, Gulf Savannah NRM was proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025.
This year’s theme was ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’ — an opportunity for us to champion future generations as they pave new pathways into the future.
Events erupted across the Gulf, spanning from live performances, arts and crafts, cultural workshops and bushtucker demonstrations, to community marches and public feasts.
Indigenous leadership and collaboration are increasingly part of our DNA as a regional NRM organisation.
Environment, community and industry are deeply interwoven — embracing their reciprocal relationship and placing Traditional Owners at the centre of work on Country is key for our collective futures.
It’s what Traditional Owners have known for 60,000 years: ‘take care of Country, and Country will take care of you.’
