Communications and Gifts Officer

We are seeking a Communications and Engagement Officer to deliver digital and print communications for a range of environmental and sustainable agriculture projects and will also support our corporate philanthropy and gifting program with targeted communications and donor relationship management. We are looking for a person with a creative eye and technical aptitude for communication, advocacy and impactful storytelling through print and digital communications and social media.

  • Based in Mareeba or Georgetown, QLD

Drought and Climate Change Resilience Facilitator

Gulf Savannah NRM has been subcontracted by FNQROC to support the implementation of the Gulf Hinterland Regional Drought Resilience Plan. The role of Regional Drought and Climate Change Resilience Facilitator has been created to support the implementation of the Gulf Hinterland Regional Drought Resilience Plan in the Mareeba, Etheridge and Croydon Shires.

The Regional Drought and Climate Change Resilience Facilitator is hosted by Gulf Savannah NRM and will work in collaboration with Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils (FNQROC) for the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of the Gulf Hinterland Regional Drought Resilience Plan.

  • Based in Mareeba, Georgetown or Croydon, QLD
  • Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term to 30 November 2026
  • Commencing salary $97,560 per annum full time or $50.03 per hour

Field Assistant

The Field Assistant is accountable to the Field Supervisor and works as part of a team to deliver on-ground NRM projects in the region. Field projects may include weed management, fencing, revegetation projects, water and soil sampling. The Field Assistant contributes to the delivery of projects and programs that improve the health of the unique environments of Queensland’s Gulf Savannah region.

  • Full time, fixed term to 30 June 2028
  • Commencing salary $65,638 per annum full time or $33.66 per hour

Field Supervisor

The Field Supervisor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation. The Field Supervisor is responsible for leading a small team of staff to deliver on-ground NRM projects in the region. Field Crew projects may include weed management, fencing, revegetation projects, water and soil sampling. The Field Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of the on-ground aspects of projects, including planning the efficient delivery of work, liaising with land managers, ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner, co-ordinating the maintenance of plant and equipment and the purchase of consumables, and maintaining records of work undertaken.

  • Commencing salary $72,494 per annum full time or $37.18 per hour

Grazing Officer

The Grazing Officer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting Gulf Savannah NRM’s delivery of projects that improve grazing practices and deliver improved natural resource management outcomes in agricultural and pastoral settings. You will coordinate the provision of expert advice and provide support to land managers to implement improved grazing practices and increase the resilience of grazing businesses. The Grazing Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects, including working within project budgets and completing project reporting for funders, partners, Gulf Savannah NRM’s Leadership Team, Board of Directors and members.

  • Based in Georgetown or Croydon, QLD
  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term to 30 June 2029
  • Commencing salary $80,025 per annum full time or $41.04 per hour, reviewed annually

Land Protection Officer (Pest and Weeds)

The Land Protection Officer is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of Pest and Weed Management projects in the region and is part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation. The Land Protection Officer will provide advice and support to land managers in relation to pest and weed prevention and management and undertake strategic pest and weed mapping and control activities as required for the delivery of Gulf Savannah NRM projects. The Land Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects, including managing project budgets and completing project reporting for funders, partners, Gulf Savannah NRM’s Leadership Team, Board of Directors and members.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning Coordinator

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning Officer works across the organisation, supporting multi-disciplinary teams to delivery excellence in project monitoring and evaluation. The Monitoring, Evaluation and Planning Officer will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Northern Gulf Regional NRM Plan and undertaking scheduled reviews of the Regional NRM Plan. The MEP Officer will support the CEO and leadership team to drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

NRM Project Officer 

NRM Project Officers are accountable to the Program Managers, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation. Project Officers are responsible for supporting Gulf Savannah NRMs delivery of NRM projects, and work with landholders and the community to deliver improved natural resource management outcomes for the Northern Gulf. Project Officers are responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects, including managing project budgets and completing project reporting for funders, partners, Gulf Savannah NRM’s Leadership Team, Board of Directors and members. The NRM Project Officer will demonstrate excellence in coordination, extension and facilitation, and provide technical support to deliver projects focussed on environmental, social and economic outcomes.
