Field Supervisor

The Field Supervisor works as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation. The Field Supervisor is responsible for leading a small team of staff to deliver on-ground NRM projects in the region. Field Crew projects may include weed management, fencing, revegetation projects, water and soil sampling. The Field Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of the on-ground aspects of projects, including planning the efficient delivery of work, liaising with land managers, ensuring all activities are carried out in a safe manner, co-ordinating the maintenance of plant and equipment and the purchase of consumables, and maintaining records of work undertaken.

  • Commencing salary $72,494 per annum full time or $37.18 per hour

Field Assistant

The Field Assistant is accountable to the Field Supervisor, and works as part of a team to deliver on-ground NRM projects in the region. Field projects may include weed management, fencing, revegetation projects, water and soil sampling. The Field Assistant contributes to the delivery of projects and programs that improve the health of the unique environments of Queensland’s Gulf Savannah region.

  • Based in Mareeba or Georgetown, QLD
  • Full time, fixed term to 30 June 2028
  • The commencing salary will be $65,638 per annum full time or $33.66 per hour, reviewed annually

Communications & Engagement Officer

This role will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation delivering meaningful social and environmental outcomes for the Northern Gulf region. The Communications and Engagement Officer will deliver digital and print communications for a range of environmental and sustainable agriculture projects and will also support our corporate philanthropy and gifting program with targeted communications and donor relationship management. We are looking for a person with a creative eye and technical aptitude for communication, advocacy and impactful storytelling through print and digital communications and social media. Ideally, the successful applicant will have an empathy for remote and regional Australia and an understanding of environmental issues affecting North Queensland.

  • Part or full time (60-75 hours per fortnight)
  • Commencing wage $88,349 per annum full time or $45.31 per hour.

Biosecurity Coordinator

The Biosecurity Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and advice for biosecurity projects across Gulf Savannah NRM and works as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the organisation. As part of the Operations Management Team, the Biosecurity Coordinator contributes to the delivery of Gulf Savannah NRM’s Strategic Plan. The Coordinator will provide both proactive and reactive advice and support to land managers in relation to biosecurity activities and opportunities within the region. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with NRM Regional Feral Pig coordinators, Indigenous Land and Sea Rangers, local government Lands Officers, Queensland Government Biosecurity Officers, researchers and other stakeholders to share information, knowledge and opportunities to improve the coordination and delivery of biosecurity activities across north and north west Queensland. The Biosecurity Coordinator is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects and delivering excellence in extension and technical support related to biosecurity matters.

  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight). Fixed Term until 30th June 2027
  • Commencing wage $97,560 per annum full time equivalent (37.50 hr week) or $50.03 per hour

NRM Program Manager

NRM Program Managers are accountable to the CEO as part of the Executive Leadership Team and work as part of multi-disciplinary teams across the organisation through the Operations Management Team.  The Program Manager contributes to all aspects of our Strategic Plan and is expected to model our Corporate Values.  The NRM Program Manager is responsible for ensuring efficient and timely delivery of projects within their program area and overseeing the budgets of projects.  NRM Program Managers are responsible for the delivery of integrated natural resource management solutions for the region.

  • Full time or Part time (60-75 hours per fortnight), fixed term
  • Commencing salary of $107,703 per annum full time (37.50 hr week) or $55.23 per hour Plus Superannuation
